When Authorial Research Doesn't Suck
Last week I watched these CV22 Osprey tilt rotors of the USAF's 8th Special Operations Squadron go "feet dry," returning at dusk to Hurlburt Field, Florida, from the Gulf of Mexico. Why? Ospreys figure in my next-month short story The Trouble With Millennials, which you can read free online at http://www.baen.com/ The Ospreys are tiny and blurry not because of speed or stealth but because I can't take a good picture while holding a glass of Chardonnay. My particular thanks to USAF Captain, veteran rotary wing pilot, and not-for-long less-veteran author Kacey Ezell for keeping my story's spirit true. If it isn't, the fault is mine, not hers.
