In May, 2011 Editions Eclipse published Le Destin De L'Orphelin, the French language translation of Orphan's Destiny, book 2 of the Jason Wander/Orphanage series.  The book features a new, original, cover illustration by English illustrator Steve Stone.  Steve is known in the US for, among other things, his covers for books by Stephen King.

March, 2012 -
Baen Books, distributed by Simon & Schuster, releases Armored, the John Joseph Adams-edited anthology that includes Robert's original short story Sticks and Stones.

March, 2012 - Baen Books, distributed by Simon & Schuster, re-releases Overkill, book 1 of the Orphan's Legacy series, in mass market paperback.

July 5, 2011 - 
Baen books published Undercurrents, book 2 of the Orphan's Legacy series, in trade paperback and electronic editions, compatible with various ereader formats.  Undercurrents is also be available as an audiobook from Audible.com.

June 1, 2011 - Baen Books published FREE at Baen.com Mole Hunt, a short story set in the universe of the Orphan's Legacy and Orphanage books.  The story fits chronologically after Overkill and Undercurrents, books 1 and 2 of the new Orphan's Legacy series, and the upcoming third book. 

May 3, 2011 - Baen Books released The Green Hills of Earth/The Menace from Earth, a collection of the golden age short stories of Robert Heinlein, with Afterword by Robert Buettner, in mass market paperback format.

March 15, 2011 - The National Space Society announced the winners in its annual Jim Baen Memorial Writing Contest, for which Robert served as a judge.

March 1, 2011 - Baen Books, distributed by Simon & Schuster, releases Overkill, book 1 of the new Orphan's Legacy series, in trade paperback and electronic editions, compatible with various e-reader formats via Baen Webscriptions.  Overkill is also available as an audiobook from Audible.com. 

November, 2010 - Bibliotheque Interdite's new Eclipse imprint releases French-language edition of Orphanage ("Les Orphelins"). 

October, 2010 - As reported by Hollywood Insider, Collider.com, and various other entertainment news media, Director/Screenwriter Olatunde Osunsanmi (The Fourth Kind)  "has adapted Robert Buettner’s alien-attack novel Orphanage" for Davis Entertainment (Predator, I Robot, Behind Enemy Lines, Eragon) for film. 

April, 2010 - Fantom Print releases Czech-language Edition of Orphan's Alliance ("Sirotkova Aliance")

March, 2010 -

January, 2010 - Robert's interview is a cover feature in January, 2010 Pevnost, the Czech Republic's premier print magazine of fantasy, Sci-fi and horror.
 
January, 2010 - Manuscript of Overkill, Book I of the new Orphan's Legacy series, delivered to Baen Books.  Baen will release Overkill in spring, 2011.
  
June, 2009 - Orbit releases Jason Wander 4, Orphan's Triumph US and UK editions.

March, 2009 - Fantom Print releases Czech-language Edition of Orphan's Journey ("Sirotkova Cesta")

January 1, 2009 - Orbit releases Jason Wander 4, Orphan's Alliance' UK edition.

August, 2008 - Orbit will release its UK mass-market editions of the first three books of the Jason Wander series.  The current US covers will be continued in the UK editions, with changes to the cover copy.

May, 2008 - La Factoria de Ideas releases Spanish-language Edition of Orphan's Destiny ("El Destino del Huerfano")

April 21, 2008 - Orbit goes back for reprint of the new versions of Orphanage and Orphan's Destiny, and of Orphan's Journey,  three weeks after their release date.  The Kindle e-book versions of the three Jason Wander books don't, of course, have to be reprinted, but are regularly ranked among Kindle's Top 25 Bestsellers in Science Fiction.  

April 1, 2008 - Orbit releases Jason Wander Book 3, Orphan's Journey, and reissues Orphanage and Orphan's Destiny with new-style covers and bonus material.  The books are also available for the first time as e-books, compatible with the Amazon Kindle, and many other e-book reading devices.

October, 2007
- Science Fiction World releases Simplified Chinese editions of Orphanage ("Orphan's Expeditionary Force") and Orphan's Destiny in trade paperback. 

July 1, 2007 - Hear Robert interviewed on Steven Euin Cobb's award winning Podcast, The Future and You, about how science fiction writers cope - or don't - with ever-accelerating change, and about the Orphanage series.  Go to www.TheFutureAndYou.libsyn.com , then click the July 1, 2007 Episode.  The interview remains accessible indefinitely.   

June, 2007 - Spanish-language Edition of Orphanage ("Orfanato") debuts on the Top-20 bestseller list of Barcelona-based SF Magazine and bookseller Gigamesh.

January, 2007- JASON et al RETURN IN 2008! Little Brown Orbit will release Orphanage books 3, 4, and 5 in 2008.  Book 3 is titled Orphan's Journey.

July, 2006
- Orphanage series cover artist Fred Gambino's work appears in theaters around the world as Warner/Tom Hanks' CGA film The Ant Bully debuts.  See Fred's work on the film (including the Ant Wizard voiced by Academy Award winner Nicholas Cage) at Fred's website,  http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~fredgamb/   and go to "books" on the site to see some of Fred's Orphanage art. 

July, 2006 - Warner Aspect, now Hachette Orbit, has taken Orphan's Destiny to third printing.


March, 2006
 
- Warner Books has taken Orphanage to fourth printing.  Russian publisher AST, which published Orphanage in Russian hardcover in January, 2006, will also publish Orphan's Destiny in Russian hard cover.  Czechoslovakian publisher Fantom Press will release Orphanage in Czech paperback later in 2006.  Chinese publisher Science Fiction World will publish both Orphanage and Orphan's Destiny in Chinese in 2006-2007.  

January, 2006 - Orphan's Destiny hardcover edition is Science Fiction Book Club's #3 overall bestseller.

October, 2005 - Science Fiction Book Club releases Orphan's Destiny in hardcover.

September, 2005 - Orphan's Destiny makes Locus magazine's paperback bestseller list in its first month of release.

August 4-8, 2005 -Warner launches Orphanage's sequel, Orphan's Destiny, at World Science Fiction Convention in Glasgow, Scotland.

Summer, 2005 - Warner runs third printing of Orphanage.

Summer, 2005 - Orphanage is nominated for the Quill Award for 2004's best Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror novel.

February 16, 2005 - Orphanage is #1 overall hardcover and paperback seller for the Colorado Mountain area for the week of February 2, 2005. 

February 1, 2005 - Orphanage debuts at #5 among Locus Magazine's nationwide paperback bestsellers for November 2004, compiled from Barnes & Noble, Borders, and prominent SF/F independent booksellers.

February 1, 2005 - Orphanage appears in special-edition hardcover as featured alternate selection of Book-of-the-Month Club's Science Fiction Bookclub. 

November 24, 2004 - Orphanage makes its first bestseller list appearance, at #2 for the Colorado Mountain Area for the week of November 13. 

November 17, 2004 - Warner runs second printing of Orphanage to catch up with strong initial sales.  Orphanage named a Notable Book by Locus (the principal magazine of Science Fiction-Fantasy publishing) OnLine.
